This is the full version of the consent you are asked to accept in the app before your first contribution. It is written in plain language so you can make an informed choice. It forms part of, and should be read with, our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

This document is the English-language authoritative version. A Portuguese (Brazil) translation is provided for convenience; if the two conflict, the English version governs.

1. What you are taking part in

Global Health DataChain ("GHDC") is a global health-data protocol. You voluntarily share real-world information about the medicines and supplements you use — through a standardized World Health Organization (WHO) questionnaire — to support health research and a participative data economy in which contributors are rewarded.

2. Participation is voluntary

  • Taking part is entirely your choice. You can decline, skip questions, stop at any time, and withdraw your consent later.
  • Withdrawing consent stops future use of your identifiable data. It does not reverse processing already done, and it cannot remove data that has already been irreversibly anonymized, because that data no longer identifies you.

3. What data you provide

Through the WHO questionnaire you provide information such as the medicine or supplement you use, how you use it, how your symptoms or quality of life changed, and any adverse reactions. You also provide basic profile information (such as age band, gender, and country). You should not submit data about anyone other than yourself unless you are legally authorized to do so.

4. How your data is protected

  • Your identity is kept in a separate, isolated Identity Vault and is never placed on a blockchain.
  • Before any research use, your contribution is de-identified: direct identifiers and the 18 HIPAA identifier categories are removed, details are generalized, and a k-anonymity (k≥10) threshold is enforced so you cannot be singled out.
  • Researchers, public-health bodies, and industry receive only anonymized, aggregated data — never data that identifies you.

Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

5. The purpose you are consenting to

By accepting, you give specific, explicit consent for GHDC to process the health data you submit in order to: (a) anonymize it and include it in aggregated datasets made available for health research and analysis; and (b) calculate and award your contribution rewards (credits).

6. Your rewards

You earn credits for eligible contributions. Credits are an off-chain record of your participation, calculated with a trust-weighted formula and per-person caps. Credits are not money or a guaranteed entitlement, and any future token or conversion is not guaranteed. See the Terms of Service.

7. Risks

The main privacy risk in any data project is re-identification. GHDC mitigates this through vault isolation, removal of identifiers, generalization, and the k-anonymity gate. No method is perfect, but anonymized research data is designed so that it cannot be traced back to you.

8. Medical disclaimer

GHDC does not provide medical advice and is not a healthcare provider. The Service, including any information, summaries, or community content, is for informational and research purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified health professional with any questions about a medical condition or medication. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something in the Service. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately. Do not start, stop, or change any treatment based on the Service.

9. Re-consent

If we materially change how your health data is used, we will ask you to review and consent again under a new version number. You can review the current version any time on this page.
